Job Description
* Supports the mission and values of Lutheran Social Ministries of New Jersey, which is: Through the power of the Holy Spirit, and in response to God's love as revealed in the Gospel, the mission of the Lutheran Social Ministries of New Jersey is to serve those in New Jersey who hurt, are in need, or have limited choices. * Monitor all patron/guest of the shelter to insure they follow the behavior code of conduct. * Escort noncompliant program participants out of the building and keep a running log of those patron who are banned from the facility * Work with all staff to enforce the behavior code of conduct * Record all noteworthy incidents and observations * Patrol the building regularly both indoors and outside * Circulate among visitors, patrons, and staff to preserve order and protect property. * Grows professionally by acquiring new skills and education * Other duties as assigned by my supervisor, necessary for the efficient operation of the department/facility. Experience and Skills
Education/Training/Certifications: High School Diploma/GED, 1 -2 years experience in Security or related field Skill(s):Demonstrates verbal and written communication skills and ability to work well with people. Anticipate problems before they arise and intervenes. Experience: Knowledge of the homeless community and security issues General Responsibilities: Monitor and maintain the safety and security of all guest, volunteers and staff. Create a general environment of acceptance.
